The Magic Lantern.

NBravoLanternToday’s post is inspired by a great book I just finished reading titled The Magic Lantern by Ingmar Bergman.

Ingmar Bergman, was an incredible Swedish writer and director.  He directed over 60 films and documentaries and lived through the holocaust. In the book, he describes his view of those times, plus his life in the european hollywood. Ingmar Bergman was a ladies man, having been married 5 times and fathered 9 children, this book gives you a good glimpse into the life of the youngest artist/director on the scene in the early 40’s. Ingmar Bergman passed away a few years ago in 2007, he was 89.  It was a great read, I highly recommend you read it.

  1. I remember seeing Scenes from a Marriage. At the halfway point, there was a break and in the foyer you could see everyone giving their partners funny looks! Stunning movie, walked out feeling shell-shocked.
